Spicy, toasty flavors abound in the Viña Olagosa Reserva. This wine spent two years in oak barrels before aging in their cellar another four. The dried berry and earth flavors have great complexity especially when that whiff of leather comes through.

Garnet color with cherry reflections, medium intensity, clean and bright. Good aromatic intensity with a perfect mix of juicy red and black fruit. Mineral aromas such as cedar and pleasant notes provided by oak, cocoa and coffee. On the palate it is fresh, intense, with good acidity and soft tannins, where again the fruits and hints of oak are present. It is balanced and fine.

Serving Suggestions: Although it is much spicier than a Pinot Noir, we recommend trying this with similar matches; Salmon, pork, veal, roast poultry with earthy veggies.

From Bodegas Perica’s single vineyard "Olagosa", comes this classic Viña Olagosa Rioja Reserva, relentlessly traditional. Made in the same style, from the same vineyard for more than 50 years, this wine is a step into the past. Spicy, toasty flavors abound, this wine spent two years in oak barrels before aging in their cellar another four. The dried berry and earth flavors have great complexity especially when that whiff of leather comes through. The harvest is carried out by means of "Selected Manual Harvest" in boxes of 10 kg and always at the optimum moment that guarantees perfect alcoholic and phenolic maturation. After the selection in the field, we will make another before entering the winery through a "selection table" to keep the best grapes. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in truncated cone-shaped tanks with a capacity of 18,000 liters. The Crianza is made in Bordeaux barrels of 225 liters for 24-28 months, combining new and semi-new barrels (225 liters) of French Oak and American Oak. Aging in the bottle until its optimum moment, prior to its release on the market.
